There have been pictures on this blog of boats that have come to grief during floods. There are three narrow boats moored between Abingdon Lock and Abingdon Bridge. Two have long ropes.

What a menace that guy that lives on the boat currently moored by the lock landing is. Totally outstayed his welcome in Abingdon and is nothing but trouble. The council and police seem powerless to do anything as usual.

It is interesting that with all the deluges we have had this Century very little seems to have been done about flood defences and building contracts are still allowed on flood plains.

The guy moored by the lock has always been nice enough to me so I’d be interested to hear, what trouble has he caused you Chris ?

Threatening youths staying on the lock island. Killing a swan on the park. Foul and abusive language in front of children, mooring for well past the allowed time and blaming problems with his boat (no intention of fixing so called problems) no license on boat. Want me to carry on?

Go speak to then gentlemen Chris – explain your thoughts to him politely and see where that heads. As with the comments of Steve he has always been nothing but wonderfully friendly and charming to me everytime our paths have crossed

Sounds like the guy moored by the lock hasn’t caused YOU any trouble you just don’t like him. Granted he looks a little scary, but living on a boat in winter during flooding isn’t something I’d relish.
