There is a new directory of local food in Abingdon produced by the Carbon Cutters, and available from Local Roots at £1, called ‘Eat, Drink and Think Local’, It lists shops and restaurants that source food locally. Local Roots always does that, and at Christmas they are getting supplies from within a mile or two…

and Geese come from just up the road at Peachcroft Farm in Abingdon.

Only drawback for me is that locally-produced seems to come at a [high] cost.
The Peachcroft turkeys are absolutely delicious and about the same price as the Waitrose posh ones and don’t come all wet wrapped in a plastic bag… I’ve ordered mine.
