Taken the P

Taken the P
There have been two different road closures in Bath Street this year, first for gas mains, and more recently for resurfacing. Somebody pointed out the road markings, after all the roadworks, and said ‘Somebody has taken the P!‘.

Does that road marking read KEE CLEAN ? Must be why it’s called Bath Street!

Needs more PR … Apparently it’s because anyone who digs up the road must repaint any road markings they disturb – but ONLY the markings they disturb. The gasworks people dug up most of the sign but not the P and the R at the end of each word, so, they don’t legally need to repaint those bits. And clearly there was no question of their going the extra mile – or the extra 12″ – and just doing it anyway.

    More than my job’s worth!

The late great Bernard Levin wrote a great deal about people he called Jobsworths; it wasn’t very complimentary.

Perhaps they ran out of PAIN
