Like last weekend, the Carbon Cutters were making juice from windfall apples.
All the things on this table are made from recycled plastic.
Two ex Mayors, Lorraine Oates and Alison Rooke were in front of the Town Council stall. Alison happens to be now Chair of the Vale of White Horse – that is the equivalent of Mayor of the District.
There were a few other stall besides. This one was to do with green architecture.
I have never in my life seen a group of people getting so much fun out of peeling an apple. But that is the Carbon Cutters for you.
Captions Please

Many Thanks to Scooter McKenzie for this cartoon. But I need a caption. Any ideas?

Shopping Centre Seats – Before and After

This is what they look like before a lick of paint.
And this is how they look after – all shiney and brown. Half are fenced off, and half not.
Heritage Day – Reprise
In planning Heritage Day it is good to try and find a couple of different properties each year so people who come every year have something new to look at. One such property this year was Helensbourne. And I am very grateful to them for so readily agreeing to open up and then going above and beyond on the day. Hester, who also helped much over the weekend, sent me these pictures. She says…
These views of the River Thames have not been seen by many of us before,
but the fortunate owners of the house can look out on them any day.
However this shows something of how precarious the supporting structures of these mediaeval houses can be.
