Bonjour! (Finally) opening soon!

Bonjour
Andy sent me this picture of a notice that is outside the former Rosie’s Tea Room.
Bonjour
As so often happens the work needed to get a place ready for opening has taken longer than expected.

Good luck to them – a commis chef is different from a commie chef. Politics in the kitchen? 😉

I hope their waiting staff will be silver-service trained and will be taught not to interrupt patrons who are enjoying a quite conversation with the inevitable “Is everything all right?” If there’s any doubt about that the food should not be brought to the table.

I was taking photos in the Market Place a few weeks ago and talking to a chef. I suggested that what we need is a French restaurant that serves authentic French cuisine, unfortunately he wasn’t local. I wish them luck.

Sorry [my original post]: patrons enjoy (one hopes) a “quiet” conversation.

I do hope that this venture is authentic and a success.

Tres bien! Je vais avoir les cuisses de grenouilles s’il te plait

(I knew my GCSE French would come in handy some day…)

A good, authentic, French bistro would be a great boon: hopefully the ‘commie’ error is just an autocorrection rather than ignorance of the brigade de cuisine!

I remember the French restaurant that used to be upstairs opposite the Crown and Thistle – Chez Joel I think? That was excellent so I’m looking forward to this one opening.
