Many thanks to Cllr Jason Fiddaman for the picture of Helen & Douglas House with one of the best Jubilee window displays. I’m not sure if there will be a prize but Helen & Douglas House would be in there with a good chance.
Sweet Chocolate and Gemini Hair are both flying the flag on Stert Street.
In the Abbey Shopping Centre, conditions are not that favorable for shop window displays during the redevelopment, but Cancer Research UK has a good display as the canopy above is being dismantled
The Book Store have a good Jubilee display, with books like: Queen Elizabeth II – A Diamond Jubilee Album. The Book Store seems a little caged in so I hope they are still getting lots of visitors.
Finally for now, and I may do another round of Jubilee windows, here is age UK, formerly known asĀ Age Concern.
Thank you Alastair, brilliant pics. Every shop and house in Abingdon should be proud of themselves, they’ve all contributed.
I drove through town last week and it is looking very gay (the old use of that word!).
H&D House are obviously hedging their bets on which is the correct way up for the flag.
H & H would be right if they assumed the flagpoles were at the sides of their building.
H & D not H & H. ooops
I had a good wander around the town today and looked at all of the decorations. It looks really fantastic ! And well done also to the individual businesses for making such an effort to decorate their premises. My friends who have visited from ‘back home’ are quite envious!
I have been looking for flags to decorate my house but everywhere is sold out, any ideas where to get some from?
Co-Op or Boswells in Oxford?
