Street Pastors hit the Streets

Street Pastors
Street Pastors hit the streets in Abingdon tonight.
Street Pastors
They are easy to recognise with their distinctive caps and Street Pastor tops. There are 24 in all, all trained, and will go out in shifts.
Street Pastors
I met up with this group at around at 2 am. They had just given some young ladies some flip flops as the high heals were getting too much. They also gave out lollipops and water. The young ladies said “Thankyou Street Pastors. See you around.

Street Pastors are there just to be a friendy face and somebody to talk to and possibly calm situations.

I wasn’t sure how this scheme would work out. Seems like a pretty good idea. Well done all involved!

Well done the CiA – Church in Abingdon before you jump to conclusions!
None of this in The Herald; precious little Abingdon in it as ever?

ah, the “Abingdon” Herald so often reminds me of this (mis)quote from the Monty Python Fish Licence sketch:

This isn’t the Abingdon Herald. This is the Wantage Herald with the word ‘Wantage’ crossed out and ‘Abingdon’ written in, in crayon.

Religion is like a penis. It’s fine to have one. It’s fine to be proud of it, but don’t go getting it out in public and ramming it down other people’s throats.
