Judging by how late he was, he might well have done. While everyone was hanging around waiting we saw a red double-decker bus and thought that might have been him.

..from the local BBC radio programme I heard, only the Yellow team (out of the big three, but also Green and Purple teams) are interested in NOT building on the greenbelt north of Abingdon.

The others seemed to think it OK…as it would mean lots of affordable housing…?….(except it wouldn’t).

Daniel – under the draft Local Plan there is a requirement for a certain percentage (35 I think) of the houses built on the new development to be “affordable”. (And before anyone replies that the Old Gaol developers haven’t yet delivered on their commitment in respect of that a) they have at least tried – but local opposition led to the application bring rejected and b) I think this is an isolated example – there are numerous examples of recent developments where the commitment has been honoured.
So I am not sure what you are basing that statement on?

Those “affordable” houses then need to be sold to the right people and not people who are instantly going to put that house on the “to Let” market.
