I can’t see the rose yet on this Abingdon street corner but will go back again in a week or so to check on progress. A lot can happen in a couple of weeks.

I too love this little bit of garden, last year there were beautiful tall purple alliums and some wonderful poppies. I’d love to know who plants them, as I find it very inspirational and decided to plant the same things in my garden.
The only problem is, that once the patch starts to bloom, I have to remind myself not to be too distracted by it’s beauty as I drive past, for safety reasons!
There was another very beautiful, though much smaller patch on Malard Way (behind Bostock Rd) in front of the flats. It was only about 1 1/2 metres square, an area around the base of a tree, but really stunning, a great example of what can be done in a small spot. I haven’t found out who did that either and alas it has now all gone.
The new style blog looks great by the way and would love a little ‘garden watch’ spot. Keep up the good work!
