The Thames was also frozen over when we walked along Wilsham road at 7am on Monday 20th December, with the air temperature down at a low of -12deg.
Ice flows were evident as we walked back later that morning – It being slightly warmer !

The quality of the photographs appearing on this site is always good, but some outstanding shots have been posted while the snow has been with us.

There is a vintage picture from over 100 years ago in the Museum of people ice skating on the river Thames in Abingdon. (well there was 10 years ago) Apparently someone drove a horse and cart from one side to the other to prove it was safe to go on!!!
