There was some work being done on Stratton Way this evening which involved work personnel with Stop and Go lollipop signs trying to control the traffic. It did not look easy. Tail backs in either direction quickly overlapped traffic light controlled junctions.

Were there any stories that I missed while away that would be worth investigating?

Is it any wonder that shoppers avoid the Precinct, when your superdrug picture illustrates the scruffy condition it is left in. Other local towns do not seem to have this problem.

There is a lease with about 80 years to run which stipulates it must operate as a hotel. The VoWHDC are the freeholder.

I havent heard anything much on the grapevine since the article Colin links, which I note was fairly non specific and in the run up to local elections,

There has indeed been a spate of shop windows being smashed, racist abuse, and also cars being vandalised. It’s well known who is doing it, but no action seems to be taken.
This man needs to be taken care of by social services, before he is ‘taken care of’ by an upset victim.
