Thank you to Elizabeth for this picture of the bridge being replaced at the town end of the Ock Valley Walk. The work happened yesterday. Elizabeth says she is delighted, as will be many other people, that the much loved walk is open again after a long closure.
The previous bridge was vandalised and closed almost six months ago.
It’s really great that this bridge has been fixed in less than 6 months. Well done.
I agree,Daniel. Now for the roads….
The vandals have moved to the South Abingdon woods. All sorts of anti social behaviour going on. Stealing cars and motorbikes and driving them around. People sleeping in the wood. Several instances of vandalism and sheds being broken into at Drayton Road Allotments. A woman told me she is now afraid to go to the allotments on her own as quite remote.
Janet, can you be more specific about “The vandals have moved to the South Abingdon woods. All sorts of anti social behaviour going on”. Are you referring to Southern Town Park? I was intending to visit it, as my hobby is photographing trees. Thanks.
Hi Peter Del. Please see neighbourhood police report as web address below.. We have had a lot of purse and money thefts in Abingdon also but no report of anyone being caught for this.

Thanks Janet, I shall leave those trees un-photographed.
Nice to see this footpath bridge open in good time ….the bridge on the footpath from Marcham to Drayton is still not Repaired after five years and the footpath from Sunningwell through the Quarry still closed after many years of temporary closures by Oxfordshire County Council
