The Abingdon Rowing Club Committee have taken the decision to cancel this year’s Abingdon Spring Head of the River time trials. Not only can’t they get all their landing platforms, and other equipment, up to Rye Farm Meadow, but also it is too dangerous for rowing.
What a shame – I feel for those who out all the effort into organising it – and training for it.
For those who just wanted a day out to watch, the alternative on Sunday is the Cycling Festival. They always have lots going on in the Market Place for those who don’t want to actually do a ride.
