But the rain soon vanished leaving Abingdon like a different place&#8230;<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/07112807.jpg\" \/><br \/>There were pirates at Mostly Books (who also did an <a href=\"http:\/\/mostly-books.blogspot.com\/2007\/11\/happy-christmas-me-hearties.html\">Extravaganza Blog<\/a>) &#8230;<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/07112808.jpg\" \/><br \/>Robin Hood at the Book Store&#8230;<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/07112809.jpg\" \/><br \/>Woolworths staff had gone completely Disney. They came second in the best dressed shop award.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/07112810.jpg\" \/><br \/>Abingdon Drama Club were promoting Jack and the Beanstalk &#8211; a pantomime coming soon to the Unicorn Theatre. But as they were not a shop, they didn&#8217;t get a placing.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/07112803.jpg\" \/><br \/>Two of the Drayton Players were in the horse drawn cab, dressed as Cinderella and Prince Charming.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/07112811.jpg\" \/><br \/>And the winners of the best dressed shop were The Newbury Building Society. They<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/07112802.jpg\" \/><br \/>declared themselves to be &#8216;Over the Rainbow&#8217; about their success.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/07112801.jpg\" \/><br \/>Whiz&#8230; Bang&#8230; Whoosh!<\/p>\n<p>(On a sadder note.
