Parents were on the touchline: some supporting <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20090621070822\/http:\/\/www.saxton-rovers.com:80\/\">Saxton Rovers F.C.<\/a> under 11s , some supporting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ayfc.org.uk\/\">Abingdon Youth F.C.<\/a> under 11s at Caldecott Rec.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/071202005.jpg\" \/><br \/>At Trinity the first candle of the Advent Crown was lit, and <em>&#8216;Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel!<\/em>&#8216; was sung<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/071202002.jpg\" \/><br \/>There was chaos on the town&#8217;s roads, probably caused by the telecom road works on the Drayton Road Bridge, and exacerbated by &#8216;sheer weight of traffic&#8217; as people went home from sports, leisure, church, shops or whatever. In any case it was all quiet again within the hour&#8230;<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/071202001.jpg\" \/><br \/>&#8211; even sooner for residents of the Tomkins Almshouses.
