Polly told us of her recent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.targeta.co.uk\/polly_vacher.htm\">Wings around Britain<\/a> flight, where she flew between and landed at 221 different airfields in Britain &#8211; all in aid of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toreachforthesky.org.uk\/\">Flying Scholarships for the disabled<\/a>.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/08022305.jpg\" \/><br \/>More than a few guests had civic chains. There were mayors from a lot of the surrounding towns.<\/p>\n<p>There was a guess the name of the bear, a charity auction, and a raffle to raise funds for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phabengland.org.uk\/\">Phab<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20081201024137\/http:\/\/www.ageconcernoxon.org.uk:80\/index.php\">Age Concern<\/a>.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/images\/08022301.jpg\" \/><br \/>and dancing to the sound of the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20081119152843\/http:\/\/www.oums.org\/oubigband\/\">Oxford University Big Band<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Abingdon Traditional Morris Dancers were dancing in the foyer as the guests arrived.The mayor and her escourt sat at the top table&#8230;Next to them were guest speaker Polly Vacher, and the chair of the Vale District Council.
