They then covered up the hole with tarmac, and left it like that to this day.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag12\/12090906.jpg\" alt=\"Two Contractors\" \/><br \/>\nBecause it happened once I half expect it to happen again.<\/p>\n<p>Last weekend their was a leak near the Market Place. It had been there for maybe three weeks.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag12\/12090907.jpg\" alt=\"Two Contractors\" \/><br \/>\nOn Monday some contractors fixed the leak but left a lump of tarmac where there had been cobbles.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag12\/12090910.jpg\" alt=\"Two Contractors\" \/><br \/>\nA second gang came today\u00a0to complete the job.<\/p>\n<p>Most jobs do get completed well and properly and don&#8217;t need chasing. <\/p>\n<p>Moral of the Story : Good work goes largely unnoticed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A couple of years ago when the new pavements were first laid a utility contractor came and did some work.
