The subject got onto old houses, and one chap said to the other&#8230;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag11\/11071906.jpg\" alt=\"Oldest House in Abingdon\" \/><br \/>\n&#8216;<em>The one with the timbers and removed brick infill on Stert Street says 1470. Do you think it can be?<\/em>&#8216;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag11\/11071903.jpg\" alt=\"Oldest House in Abingdon\" \/><br \/>\nThe other one considered the matter, <em>&#8216;Its possible&#8217;<\/em> he said, &#8216;<em>But I think there is one older in East St Helen&#8217;s Street.<\/em><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag11\/11071904.jpg\" alt=\"Oldest House in Abingdon\" \/><br \/>\n<em>The one with the plaque..&#8217;<\/em><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag11\/11071901.jpg\" alt=\"Oldest House in Abingdon\" \/><br \/>\nThere are certainly some very old houses in Abingdon.\u00a0 Many of them are down East St Helen&#8217;s Street.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag11\/11071902.jpg\" alt=\"Oldest House in Abingdon\" \/><br \/>\nBut the Long Alley Almshouses, originally built in 1446, would be hard to beat.<\/p>\n<p>Or do you know better?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was listening in to a conversation.
