{"id":4056,"date":"2011-07-07T23:32:05","date_gmt":"2011-07-07T22:32:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/?p=4056"},"modified":"2011-07-07T23:32:05","modified_gmt":"2011-07-07T22:32:05","slug":"grafitti-cleaning-ox92-ox93-and-ox14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/?p=4056","title":{"rendered":"Graffiti Cleaning OX92 OX93 and OX14"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The district council has a new, clearer website &#8211; just launched this week.\u00a0 The web page about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehorsedc.gov.uk\/services-and-advice\/environment\/street-cleaning\/graffiti\">Graffiti Cleaning<\/a> got my attention\u00a0with its practical advice &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>If graffiti is on private property, the web site says,\u00a0 <em>&#8220;The owner of the property is responsible for its removal &#8230; the quicker graffiti is cleaned off, the easier it is to remove &#8230; <\/em><em>prompt removal tends to discourage more graffiti&#8221;.<\/em><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag11\/11070710.jpg\" alt=\"Graffiti Cleaning\" \/><br \/>\nThere was a spate of grafitti in South Abingdon about three months ago. Most has been cleaned. Just a few examples remain. Some is on a large green box with the ID: OX092 (Preston Road near junction to Gainsborough Green)\u00a0and even more on OX093 (Preston Road near junction to Cotman Close).<\/p>\n<p>The district web site has a section on &#8220;<em>Graffiti on privately owned street furniture (e.g. post boxes, telecommunications cabinets)<\/em>&#8220;. They suggest contacting the owner.<\/p>\n<p>Both Virgin Media and BT appear to not recognise these boxes so it would be helpful to identify the owner.\u00a0 Nothing on the green box helps very much.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag11\/11070709.jpg\" alt=\"Graffiti Cleaning\" \/><br \/>\nLast section on the Vale website is &#8220;<em>What is the district council responsible for cleaning?<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230; <em>its own property that may include council owned public toilets, rubbish bins and some leisure centres.
