{"id":26454,"date":"2020-12-18T22:34:10","date_gmt":"2020-12-18T22:34:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abingdonblog.co.uk\/?p=26454"},"modified":"2020-12-18T22:34:10","modified_gmt":"2020-12-18T22:34:10","slug":"que-pasa-en-abingdon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/?p=26454","title":{"rendered":"Que Pasa en Abingdon?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag20\/20121719.jpg\" alt=\"Advent Windows\" \/><br \/>\nAt 8pm there were a lot of people out in West St Helen Street singing along to the live Silent Night Carol on their doorsteps.<\/p>\n<p>Afterwards our neighbour mentioned an Advent Windows trail raising money for Helen and Douglas House at the old workhouse estate (Abbot Road, Thesiger Road and a bit of Oxford Road).<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag20\/20121808.jpg\" alt=\"Advent Windows\" \/><br \/>\nI cycled down there and was amazed how many houses had taken part and how good the windows were.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag20\/20121801.jpg\" alt=\"Advent Windows\" \/><br \/>\nThe pandemic and a WhatsApp group has brought the workhouse estate together.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag20\/20121809.jpg\" alt=\"Advent Windows\" \/><br \/>\nIf all communities were like this there would be Peace on Earth.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag20\/20121810.jpg\" alt=\"Advent Windows\" \/><br \/>\nI then cycled to South Avenue and looked at their advent windows. They have been doing Advent windows for a few years. Their trail also raises money for Helen and Douglas House.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag20\/20121812.jpg\" alt=\"Advent Windows\" \/><br \/>\nOne window said &#8216;HO HO HO&#8217;.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag20\/20121813.jpg\" alt=\"Advent Windows\" \/><br \/>\nAnother said &#8216;HOPE&#8217;.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag20\/20121817.jpg\" alt=\"Advent Windows\" \/><br \/>\nCycling back through Abingdon town centre I saw another new window lit up.
