It shows the tall side of Peacocks &#8211; previously the Somerfield \/ Co-op supermarket.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag20\/2020111407.jpg\" alt=\"Pied Piper\" \/><br \/>\nThe Pied Piper restaurant was on this site &#8211; run by Mr and Mrs Gough. They served coffee and cakes and cream teas in the early 1960s. It is a matter of regret that such a fine building was demolished.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag20\/2020111403.jpg\" alt=\"Pied Piper\" \/><br \/>\nThis post card (printed for S &amp; S Stationery Co Ltd., Oxford) shows the beamed interior. The previous picture came from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Abingdonandsurroundingareas\/photos\/a.415886395250344\/1382882458550728\/\">Abingdon and surrounding areas facts and history on Facebook<\/a>. I don&#8217;t know where they got it.<\/p>\n<p>Peacocks are to close.
