At the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20110128200536\/http:\/\/camino-restaurant.com\/\">Camino Restaurant + B&amp;B<\/a> for example&#8230;<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag09\/09081904.jpg\" \/><br \/>In the attic there were &#8220;<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">some receipts that are from around 1877&#8230; They mention shops from the town such as Cleavers Haberdashery, Parsons Tea Dealer, Lyfords Butchers, Abingdon Gas-Light and Coke Company and more.  They are all made to a Mr James Faulkner, who it appears was a butcher and potato dealer.&#8221;<\/span><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag09\/09081905.jpg\" \/><br \/>Mr Faulkner seemed to have like his stout.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag09\/09081907.jpg\" \/><br \/>This premises has been, in recent times, &#8220;<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">a TV aerial shop, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">a butchers<\/span>, Lamberts Restaurant, Il Camino Restaurant, Don Giovanni and now Camino Restaurant, The first floor was converted from a dining\/function room to 4 B&amp;B rooms in 2007.&#8221;<\/span> The butcher&#8217;s rail was left behind and can still be seen above.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag09\/09081906.jpg\" \/><br \/>But going further back there is also well. It was &#8220;<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">discovered under a heavy slap when they began changing it to a restaurant the first time<\/span>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for these details from Ryan at the Camino Restaurant.
