I could not quite place him until he asked &#8220;How&#8217;s the German?&#8221; We had done an evening course together in about 2001.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/4552\/136\/1600\/newwater%20006.0.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/4552\/136\/320\/newwater%20006.0.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>We spoke about how little we&#8217;d used our German, and then I asked about the  stream I&#8217;d not noticed before.<\/p>\n<p>He said it is normally just a trickle in a ditch. But because of the rain,  people were out clearing away a supermarket trolley   yesterday that was causing a blockage. It had been near flooding.<\/p>\n<p>All down the stream water was running in from concrete irrigation pipes .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/4552\/136\/1600\/newwater%20005.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/4552\/136\/320\/newwater%20005.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>I crossed the stream near Mons Way over a makeshift bridge made from branches, an old bike, and a slab of paving (previous picture), and discovered on the other side another new water feature.<\/p>\n<p>Between Rawlings Grove and Stevenson Drive a grass bottomed hollow was looking like a lake.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/4552\/136\/1600\/newstream08.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/4552\/136\/320\/newstream08.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>The final picture is Mons Way in its autumn beauty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Walking through the Copenhagen Drive area today, I met somebody I had not seen for ages.
