They used to live in Abingdon, and often come back, and Colin took these pictures of the Mayor of Ock Street around 1957.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag19\/19061202.jpg\" alt=\"Mayoroploy\" \/><br \/>\nThis is a close up.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag19\/19061203.jpg\" alt=\"Mayoroploy\" \/><br \/>\nIn 1957 there were not so many cars going along Ock Street.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag19\/19061204.jpg\" alt=\"Mayoroploy\" \/><br \/>\nThis coming Saturday, the Election of the Mayor of Ock Street takes place and in Fat Face there is a fine display  to let people know ahead of time.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag19\/19061205.jpg\" alt=\"Mayoroploy\" \/><br \/>\n Approximate timings taken from the <a href=\"http:\/\/atmd.org.uk\">Abingdon Traditional Morris Danding website<\/a> look like this &#8230; <\/p>\n<p>10:00  Polling Station at Brewery Tap opens, procession into town<br \/>\n10:15  Black Swan<br \/>\n10:45  Bury Street Precinct<br \/>\n11:30  Abbey Gateway<br \/>\n12:00 \u2013 13:00 Market Place<br \/>\n14:00  The Broad Face<br \/>\n14:30  Long Alley Almshouses<br \/>\n15:00  Brewery Cottages, Coopers Lane<br \/>\n16:00  Close of Polling Station at Brewery Tap<br \/>\n16:15  Election of Mayor of Ock Street, followed by chairing and dancing (Brewery Tap) &#8230; Jennifer and Colin will also be there for their first chance to see the Mayor of Ock Street in a very long time.<br \/>\n17:15  Procession along Ock Street<br \/>\n17:30  White Horse<br \/>\n18:15  Mayott House<br \/>\n19:15 \u2013 19:45 Market Place<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag19\/19061206.jpg\" alt=\"Mayoroploy\" \/><br \/>\nLast year in the Fat Face window there was Abingdon Traditional Morris Dancers lego.
