Army cadets were out in force to sell poppys, and soldiers from Dalton Barracks came to support the event.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag17\/2017102802.jpg\" alt=\"Poppy Festival\" \/><br \/>\nClare organised the event, and brought together many poppy themed stalls, and people.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag17\/2017102806.jpg\" alt=\"Poppy Festival\" \/><br \/>\nThere was a stall selling poppy cakes &#8230;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag17\/2017102808.jpg\" alt=\"Poppy Festival\" \/><br \/>\nA giant poppy was brought into the Market Place to the sound of drum and pipes.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag17\/2017102809.jpg\" alt=\"Poppy Festival\" \/><br \/>\nThis event is at the commencement of the fortnight of the Poppy Appeal leading up to Remembrance Day on 12th November. Homebase donated a waterfall of poppys like the ones first seen at the Tower of London, if a little smaller.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag17\/2017102810.jpg\" alt=\"Poppy Festival\" \/><br \/>\nThe Royal British Legion Riders Branch were there.
