It was a dry, warm and sunny day today with blue skies.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag17\/17032506.jpg\" alt=\"ATOM\" \/><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.abingdonastro.org.uk\/aas_blog\/\">Abingdon Astronomical Society<\/a> were there with telescopes and information of what to look out for in the sky at night.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag17\/17032502.jpg\" alt=\"ATOM\" \/><br \/>\nCulham Centre for Fusion Energy had robots people could operate, and under a dark cover a plasma ball, to demonstrate some of the technologies and science they use as they look to generate energy from fusion.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag17\/17032501.jpg\" alt=\"ATOM\" \/><br \/>\nA group at Sandford Lock are looking for investors to finance a hydro to generate electricity.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag17\/17032514.jpg\" alt=\"ATOM\" \/><br \/>\nThe <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abnats.org.uk\/\">Abingdon Naturalist Society<\/a> had lot of pondlife for people to observe. <\/p>\n<p>One of their new projects involves nesting boxes for swifts to try and halt the decline of the swifts&#8217; population. They also do interesting talks.<\/p>\n<p>Other stalls included: a sample of the blackest material yet made; and nano surfaces that waterproof mobile phones and make water roll about like drops of mercury.
