{"id":15478,"date":"2016-01-10T22:40:08","date_gmt":"2016-01-10T21:40:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/?p=15478"},"modified":"2016-01-10T22:40:08","modified_gmt":"2016-01-10T21:40:08","slug":"saxton-arms-could-become-flats-and-not-a-shop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/?p=15478","title":{"rendered":"Saxton Arms could become flats and not a shop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to Hester and Andy for noticing this &#8230;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag16\/16011002.jpg\" alt=\"Recycling Christmas Trees\" \/><br \/>\nThere was an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heraldseries.co.uk\/news\/hsabingdonnews\/14147000.Shop_plan_for_ex_pub_worries_local_trader\/\">article in the Herald<\/a> not long ago with Reg from the Gainsborough Green shop concerned that a Tesco or similar shop would be taking over the Saxton Arms.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag16\/16011003.jpg\" alt=\"Recycling Christmas Trees\" \/><br \/>\nThose plans, for a shop at the Saxton Arms, have now been withdrawn, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehorsedc.gov.uk\/java\/support\/Main.jsp?MODULE=ApplicationDetails&#038;REF=P15\/V3062\/FUL\">new plans submitted<\/a> for 4 x one bed and 1 x two bed apartments with associated car parking.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag16\/16011004.jpg\" alt=\"Recycling Christmas Trees\" \/><br \/>\nThat means that both the pubs taken over by Hawthorn Leisure Ltd from Greene King in 2014 &#8211; the Saxton Arms and the Cross Keys, could now be used as housing.
