{"id":14956,"date":"2015-10-02T23:28:20","date_gmt":"2015-10-02T22:28:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/?p=14956"},"modified":"2015-10-02T23:28:20","modified_gmt":"2015-10-02T22:28:20","slug":"froctober-has-begun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/?p=14956","title":{"rendered":"Froctober has begun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to Clare for this &#8230;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15100202.jpg\" alt=\"Froctober \" \/><br \/>\nIn October we are Standing Up to Cancer, a national campaign between Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 to raise funds for life-saving research.<\/p>\n<p>Here at the Cancer Research UK shop in Bury Street, Abingdon, we have also designated October &#8220;Froctober&#8221; \u2013 a month in which staff and volunteers will every day be wearing dresses that have been donated to us.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15100203.jpg\" alt=\"Froctober \" \/><br \/>\nWe will be modelling 100 dresses throughout the month, raising money through sponsorship as well as through the sale of the dresses.<\/p>\n<p>Cancer has touched too many people and these dresses demonstrate the generosity of our supporters.  They range from high street favourites such as Boden and Karen Millen to designers like Diane von Furstenberg and Joseph Ribkoff.<\/p>\n<p>Friday October 9 is &#8220;Froctober Friday&#8221;.  Please join us by dressing up on Friday October 9 and making a donation.
