The Abingdon Traditional Morris Dancers host the event, and the person voted in by the people of Ock Street becomes the Mock Mayor of Abingdon for the year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15062010.jpg\" alt=\"Mayor of Ock Street\" \/><br \/>\nVisiting teams were\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20191126060748\/http:\/\/www.bamptonmorris.co.uk:80\/\">Bampton Traditional Morris Men<\/a><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15062003.jpg\" alt=\"Mayor of Ock Street\" \/><br \/>\nand\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wychwayz.org\/\"> Wychwayz Border Morris<\/a>.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15062004.jpg\" alt=\"Mayor of Ock Street\" \/><br \/>\nDancing took place round town in a large number of places including a return to Tompkins Almshouse, after an absence of 3 or 4 years.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15062006.jpg\" alt=\"Mayor of Ock Street\" \/><br \/>\nDuncan Brown was elected Mayor of Ock Street in a closely fought \u00a0contest, narrowly beating Harry Knight and Roger Cox. Duncan was presented with the sash, sword, goblet, and hat of office by the Mayor of Abingdon-on-Thames Helen Pighills.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15062007.jpg\" alt=\"Mayor of Ock Street\" \/><br \/>\nDuncan was then paraded up and down Ock Street.<\/p>\n<p>Duncan \u00a0was born in Abingdon and attended Dunmore and Fitzharrys Schools, He was the youngest ever Mayor of Abingdon in 2010, and is the first person to have been Mayor and Mock Mayor of Abingdon.
