There was a road closure, on High Street, to allow more stalls than ever before.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15041903.jpg\" alt=\"Abingdon Freewheeling Cycle Festival\" \/><br \/>\nCycle rides, free for everyone, were setting off from Abingdon Market Place at regular intervals from 9am to 1:30pm &#8211; with about thirty rides in total. They ranged from 5 mile family rides &#8230;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15041904.jpg\" alt=\"Abingdon Freewheeling Cycle Festival\" \/><br \/>\nto 40 mile fast rides, or 50 mile off road orienteering courses.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15041901a.jpg\" alt=\"Abingdon Freewheeling Cycle Festival\" \/><br \/>\nThe last ride was a 10-15 mile Retro Fun Ride.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15041902.jpg\" alt=\"Abingdon Freewheeling Cycle Festival\" \/><br \/>\nNew this year was a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shoretrax.com\/\">Shoretrax<\/a> woodern track for the BMXers and Mountain Bikers.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15041905.jpg\" alt=\"Abingdon Freewheeling Cycle Festival\" \/><br \/>\nThe Abingdon-on-Thames Town Crier was both Master of Ceremonies &#8211; calling riders to order at the start of rides, and festival mascot &#8211; he appears  on the cycle festival leaflets and fliers.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.abingdonblog.co.uk\/imag15\/15041913.jpg\" alt=\"Abingdon Freewheeling Cycle Festival\" \/><br \/>\nThere were many cycle related stalls, food wagons, live groups playing music, and massages.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Abingdon Freewheeling Cycle Festival took place today, on a cool Sunday in April.
