There was a large gathering of MG Cars on Abingdon Market Place as part of the 25th annual Boxing Day meeting and rally.
This included some of the 1.3 million+ MG cars made at the Abingdon Works, off the Marcham Road from 1930 to 1980.
Richard Martin, the Chairman of the MG Car Club – Abingdon Works Centre, gave people instructions about the route.
Cars left in their own time on this mild boxing day morning.
Musical entertainment was provided by Ian Giles who, when not busking in Abingdon, plays for the Oxford Waits.

Snowfall outside The Punchbowl, Abingdon, on Christmas Day Morning
Snow was falling soon after midnight on Christmas Day Morning outside The Punchbowl in Abingdon.
Santa was passing through at about that time.
Happy Christmas. Ho Ho Ho! It was fake snow.
Christmas Lights in Abingdon
Medlicott Drive in Abingdon has an excellent display of lights this Christmas.
There are also a lot of exciting lights along Saxton Road.
South Avenue is raising funds for Helen and Douglas House with displays in windows. One window has a film that looks as if Santa Claus is in the room.
Each day another house turns on their window display, and on Christmas Eve three houses will have a new display.
Goodbye Rosie’s Tea Room
It is goodbye (Sunday 23rd December 2018) to Rosie’s Tea Room after eight years of good tea and scone service to the people of Abingdon, and visitors. Rosie’s Tea Room took over the premises in West St Helen Street previously used by Frugal Food.
It was not just a tea room but also provided evening entertainment such as knit and natter, pudding nights, and small performances without a microphone. The current proprietors were planning to hand over Rosie’s tea pots to somebody else but it appears the landlord has another better offer for the premises to become a restaurant.
(2nd picture from Rosie’s Facebook page where there are over 131 comments from people about the closure).
