Wick Hall & Nurseries - Open Garden

Thanks to John for pictures of something I missed and may now never see. While I was watching the dragon, he was at Wick Hall open garden day. The hall is off Audlett Drive.

"Comprising approx 10 acres of lawns and wild garden... topiary... pond garden... rockeries... walled garden enclosing knot garden... young arboretum...
barn and greenhouses... large display of old horticultural and agricultural tools."

Wick Farm was built in the 1720s by the Tomkins family, then enlarged in the 1882 and renamed Wick Hall.

Johns says "The Wick Hall open day has always been one of the social highlights of the year; unfortunately it now seems that the family may no longer able to do this and the event will be missed..."

I never knew about this either and would have loved to have gone! What a shame if they can't keep it up.
