Shrove Tuesday... Ash Wednesday

We still make pancakes using a traditional Delia Smith recipe.

(Shrove Tuesday was once a time to use up eggs and fat before Ash Wednesday - the start of Lent.)

Should have saved yourself time by following new style Delia recipe - which involves short walk to Waitrose to buy a pack of their own ready made pancakes and then simply follow the reheat instructions on the packet.

I worked late today and missed out on pancakes and am very bitter and twisted about it!

A good flip of the pancake, judging by that pic. But a truly great flip would have touched the ceiling!

A perfectionist is never happy...

How do you know it wasn't on its way down from the ceiling?!

Because she's catching it elegantly in the pan. I'm normally scraping it off the floor and wiping the cooking oil off my t-shirt!

Memo to self: don't judge people by my own standards :)
