Gutted

The Esso petrol station on Marcham Road was sold to new owners last year, and they are redeveloping the premises.

The building has been gutted, and huge craters have appeared where the fuel tanks once were. The work is likely to take another twelve weeks. During that time, customers can either use Tesco nearby, or B.P on the Vineyard. The tyre sales and Honda motorcycle dealer behind are still open for business.

Over the road at the Fairacres retail park, half of the Mays furniture store has been gutted as part of what is described as a 'refurbushment.'

The work being carried out is extensive but all stores are still open for business including a shrunk down Mays.
