Nags Head Re-opens (Not as a Tesco Extra but as Pub)

Nags Head Re-opened
The Nags Head Public House re-opened today.
Nags Head Re-opened
The Nags Head pub closed about two years ago. Two other pubs closed at about the same time and have re-opened since as Tesco Extras (The Fitzharris Arms and The Ox).

The Nags Head has re-opened as a public house looking better than ever – inside and out.

That is all down to Dushan Salwathura the new Landlord. Dushan was formerly Landlord of the Broad Face.

I am up for local enterprise.. anything that brings focus, business and more importantly local residents and visitors to use our town in a social manner must be good , we need it. anyone who is prepared to invest at these times must be appreciated.

Graham… give the bloke a chance?

when the old gaol opens there will be more reason to walk down that way – previously the nags head has been a bit too far out of the way.

    Good luck Dusty.

Definitely worth the few minutes walk Rudi – one of the nicest views in the county, particularly when accompanied by a pint of Abingdon Bridge.

A group of us out for a walk yesterday morning nipped in to try the Nag’s Head just after opening time!!. (We had coffee since it was only 11.30). It was lovely inside the pub and the coffee was great too. A welcome addition to Abingdon I think. (Or should I say welcome back!).

Anyone know what their telephone number is? The one listed on all Google pages (536645) doesn’t work. Also, is it a dog-friendly pub?

This is such a great story with all the doom and gloom in the pub industry at the moment. I never went in the Broad face when it was run by Dushan but I heard very good things about it. I’m sure he is the man for the job and will keep away all the underage youths that contributed to the pubs demise last time! Good luck and next time I’m in Abingdon I will make a point of popping in for a pint!

Went in there yesterday evening with my wife and a coulpe of friends.
beer was good, food was nice just a shame you can’t sit in the conservatory if your not eating.

Now with the kings, the nags and the tap there is definitely a nice litte drinking crawl in our fair town!

Agreed Bill. I think when the Stocks bar has had the refurb it will also be a top watering hole. They are spending a fair few quid in there so it should be good.

Tim and Bill -> The Old Anchor is a lovely pub now as well; bit further to walk but worth it in my book!
Looking forward to trying out the Nags Head 🙂
