One Chinese Takeaway closes. Another to open.

Chinese Takeaway
While we were away the Chinese Kitchen closed down. It had been run for over 40 years by the Choi Family. Their goodbye notice said they began as the only Chinese takeaway in town in the 1970s, and now they think is the “right time to embrace retirement and to enjoy the next chapter in our lives.”

As for the premises there is a new notice in the window saying “Fish and Chips opening soon.”
Chinese Takeaway
Elsewhere in town I see a New Chinese Takeaway is Opening. When one door closes another opens.

    Alastair, welcome back.
Barbers’ shops opening near each other; fish and chip shops opposite each other – very strange.

I used to live above there. Back when it was a menswear shop. My Father was the Manager there. We lived there until I was about two I think.
When I told the owner of the Chinese Kitchen that I used to live upstairs, he couldn’t believe it. I can still recall the smell of the ties that were kept in drawers.

Julian, was that called Paul’s outfitters? Word on the street is the old outdoor traders has a new tenant but they’re keeping tight lipped about it? Stan James old betting shop has been let? Smarts old fish n chip shop is going to be a Pappa Jo’s pizza chain outlet.
    All good I suppose?

Whats the betting that the ex Outdoor Traders will be a coffee shop ? If only there was a Stan James about I could put a bet on.
