Two upcoming events
John Mason School has taken on a whole new venture this year – a production of Henry Purcell’s 1689 opera, Dido and Aeneas. The dedicated cast of 20 students has been working hard since the spring to bring you Purcell’s wonderful story of Dido.

It tells the tale of the Queen of Carthage, Dido, and the Trojan prince, Aeneas. When Aeneas and his crew become shipwrecked in Carthage, he and the Queen fall in love. The path of true love does not run smoothly as some witches plot Dido’s destruction.

The beautiful music will be performed by JMS musicians, and performances will be in the Amey Theatre at Abingdon school on 12th and 13th July.

Tickets are £4 / £3 and are available from Students Services at John Mason School or by calling 01235 524664.

Backstreeter – my apologies for an off-list comment.

Charles Miller (Rector of St Helen’s) has been taken into hospital following what is reported to have been a major heart attack. Doubtless, some of your readers will be interested.

    Thanks!
