King Charles 1 Pub Sign

March 22, 2016

King Charles
When the Kings Head and Bell had a revamp last year, the bell shaped sign – with a picture of King Charles I – could not be rehung, as the hanger was broken. There were some complaints when it was replaced with a sign with just writing.
King Charles
A picture of King Charles I has been re-instated, but without the bell.

The old bell-shaped sign is on the wall in the pub courtyard. Cheers!

Presumably they are relying on the fact that the Bell can be ‘heard’ rather than seen if attending at the correct time on the right days during the week due to the proximity of St Nics and St Helens?
