There was a Big Car Boot Sale at Peachcroft Farm this morning – as there is from 9:30am – 1:00pm every Sunday.
Some stalls raise money towards a cause such as a team challenge project. Some stalls are commercial. But most stalls appear to be people wanting to have a clear out, and to make a bit of cash from their old belongings.
Under this morning’s hot sun there were lots of customers making their way up and down the rows and rows of cars. Lots of people seem to love the thrill of the search. My wife in particular was in her element, picking out bargain after bargain.
I think they have got a cheek charging buyers £1 to get in. What exactly are you getting for that?
it likely subsidises the charge for the vendors. If it is worthwhile enough for the vendors to come…more will come…if more vendors are there, its a better boot sale….if it is a better boot sale, it is ‘worth it’ to go as a buyer…
…probably.
‘What exactly are you getting for that?’
Access to an Alladin’s Cave of treasure and tat.
always like a good boot sale – you can sometimes find stuff that simply isn’t in shops anymore – for better or worse.
personally I managed to pick up a bargain mini keyboard that my nephew will love playing – total spend, £2, excellent.
We charge a buyers price because we employe a large amount of staff we also have to pay for the use of the field, we try to give you the best bootsale experience we are lucky to have the staff we have as at least every weekend we have to deal with lost children etc 🙂
